Design
As far back as I can remember, I’ve always appreciated great design, particularly around structure. When my kids were young, we would drive around looking for homes under construction in hopes of sneaking a peek. It’s inspiring to be around so many amazing projects and all are a reflection of the incredible pool of talent we have in our region. Nothing pumps me up more.
It’s one of the reasons I get such enjoyment out of what I do in the land surveying profession. We are on these projects and with front row seats. We typically see them from the initial Design Topo phase through to construction. Our component may appear small but it’s critical for each project. I have the utmost respect for the process of taking a project from an idea in someone’s head to a completed structure.

We are lucky to have the opportunity to be involved in world-class projects on a daily basis, and that wouldn’t be possible without our team. We bring skill, scale, organization, and passion.
Steve Jobs famously said, “It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” I believe every word of that. Building a great team takes time. Refining strategy takes time. And if it was easy, everybody would be doing it. Brick by brick, we build something from nothing, together.

Through the lens of serving our clients, we will continue to innovate. If we feel a custom Project Management system with millions of lines of code will help deliver better service for our clients, we’re not afraid to climb that mountain. We are strategic, we are thoughtful, and we are willing to do whatever it takes for our clients projects to be a success.
We will stay open and curious to “find a better way,” to obsess, to try new things. We constantly ask: how can we contribute more? How can we be more? These questions are what make me excited to come into the office each day.
Legacy
After 20 years and tens of thousands of projects, we’re just getting started. We work with top developers, investors, builders, and architects in the area and we don’t take that lightly. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to serve them on a daily basis. I love the concept of thinking big. I love the idea of building something you expect to be around in 100 years. I believe deeply in this region and it’s going to be very interesting to see what Terrane evolves into in the coming decades.
